In Croswald, the only thing more powerful than dark magic is one secret…

For sixteen years Ivy Lovely has been hidden behind an enchanted boundary that separates the mundane from the magical. When Ivy crosses the border, her powers awaken. Curiosity leads her crashing through a series of adventures at the Halls of Ivy, a school where students learn to master their magical blood and the power of Croswald’s mysterious gems. When Ivy’s magic––and her life––is threatened by the Dark Queen, she scrambles to unearth her history and save Croswald before the truth is swept away forever.

Review:

5 Stars

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Crowns of Croswald is simply magically!

I am not going to lie, when it comes to books labeled "middle grade" I have a bad habit of passing them over. Thankfully, I did not do this when given the opportunity to read The Crowns of Croswald.

D.E. Night has created a truly enchanting world and brought it to life with vivid details that allows the reader truly visualize what they are reading. I loved following Ivy on her journey through the Halls of Ivy and getting introduced to this new world alongside her character. Humboldt is absolutely adorable! I want my own Humboldt in real life, but a little stuffed toy version would be nice as well (hint, hint).

While I have read many fantasy stories filled with magic, I found The Crowns of Croswald to be a unique story all its own. After spending so much time rushing to see how if it ends, I now wish it hadn't come to an end. I cannot wait to get my hands on book 2 of The Croswald Series and continuing the journey with Ivy Lovely through Croswald.

Author:

D.E. Night lives, dreams, and writes in South Florida amid her menagerie--two dogs, two cats--with her husband. The Crowns of Croswald is her first book. She draws inspiration from silver-screen storytellers, magical imaginings, and her younger brothers. A day spent in Croswald, or another whimsical world, is her favorite kind of day.

You can follow D.E. Night on social media for more updates.
