Summary

I’m a warrior. Cursed to fight monsters. Sworn to act as Zeus’ sword to protect mankind.

But I’d give it all up for one last kiss with the god who stole my heart…Apollo.

I never wanted to carry my family's legacy. But blood ties cannot be broken, and I’ll keep the promise I made my father on his dying bed. Legendary monsters hunt in city streets of Chicago, and my job was to take down the worst.

I’ve trained with Heracles.

Been blessed with super human powers.

What I’ve never done is fallen in love—until Apollo crossed my path. But he isn’t the only god to catch my attention. Hades is here too, and with him comes a darkness that leaves behind a trail of human bodies. Heracles and my gut instinct urges me to destroy this creature, but each step brings me closer to the truth…

Darkness cannot win…or the Earth will tumble into chaos and I’ll lose the god I’ve come to love…Apollo is mine.

Apollo is Mine is book 1 in the Harem of the Gods reverse harem series.

Content Warning: Steamy love scenes, dominating alphas who protect their female, and plenty of sexy Greek gods who will leave you breathless.

About Mila

Bestselling Author, Mila Young tackles everything with the zeal and bravado of the fairytale heroes she grew up reading about. She slays monsters, real and imaginary, like there's no tomorrow.

By day she rocks a keyboard as a marketing extraordinaire. At night she battles with her might pen-sword, creating fairytale retellings, and sexy ever after tales. In her spare time, she loves pretending she's a mighty warrior, walks on the beach with her dogs, cuddling up with her cats, and devouring every fantasy tale she can get her pinkies on.

Q & A with Mila

1) Are there any authors, genres, or works of literature that have influenced your writing?

I grew up reading horror and Richard Laymon was my fav and still is in the genre :) But I also am a huge fan of Laurel Hamilton, especially her Anita Blake series, both definitely influencing me to write my own tales.

2) What is your creative process when bringing your worlds or characters to life?

I do a lot of pre-work. Usually starting with research. I have an idea of what I want to write, then I’ll go and research the backstory of the mythology or fairy tale that has influenced my story, or historical, depending on the topic. During this time I also like to do what is called idea percolation :) Where I spend a lot of time letting the idea stir in my mind, where I think about how things will play out in general, what the characters will be like. This helps everything form in my mind so I can picture the story. Once I have a better feel for the world and characters, I work on my outline. A detailed plot, ensuring I hit all the main arc and pinch points. I tend to write this down to chapter, so I know exactly what will happen.

3) What was your inspirations behind the Harem of the Gods series?

I have already been a mythology buff for as long as I can remember. I grew up adoring Egyptian myths and wanted to study Egyptology… I ended doing a degree in Mythology and a large portion of that study included Greek mythology. I’ve written a lot of fairy tale retellings but have wanted to write one about gods for a while now. So this book lets me delve into my passion and explore what it would be like if the gods existed in today’s world.

4) Is there a character from your works that you feel a special connection with?

When I wrote Hunted, my Red Riding Hood retelling, I put a lot of myself into Scarlet, the heroine. One of those things is that I don’t swear out loud. No idea why, but it feels strange saying it, yet in my head, I swear like a sailor haha So this is a trait I shared with Scarlet.

5) What lead you to writing and later publishing your first book?

I thank my dad for my passion of books. He is an author as well and I grew up in a household with lots of books and their appreciation. It’s something I had always wanted to do for as long as I can remember.

6) Is there any advice you would like to give to writers who are just starting out?

Network. Get to know other authors, read their books, learn how they promote. Writing is a lonely business, so it’s amazing to have friends who are in the same industry. I love the friends I’ve made on my writing journey and wouldn’t give that up for anything.
